Marc Chagall’s lithographs ‘Windows of Jerusalem’ are some of his most important works, showcasing the beauty and intricacy with which he designed the windows at the Hadassah-Hebrew University Medical Center.
In 1959, the President and Architect of the Centre commissioned Chagall to design the stained-glass windows for the synagogue that was to be part of the Hospital. Chagall worked on the project for two years, with the windows ultimately exhibited both in Paris and New York in 1961.
